Dr. Robert Lugo is a double board-certified Physiatrist and Interventional Pain Specialist focused on treating musculoskeletal joint and spine pain—without surgery. He uses advanced orthobiologic and minimally invasive procedures to help patients move better, feel better, and live pain-free.

Dr. Lugo earned a master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Midwestern University, where he conducted stroke research. He completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and went on to pursue fellowship training in Interventional Pain Medicine in New York City. He treats the root cause of pain—helping patients restore function and return to the activities they love through targeted, ultrasound- or fluoroscopy-guided procedures.

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Lugo brings the discipline of a former Division I NCAA track and field athlete to his medical practice. He is passionate about working with everyday people as well as athletes, having volunteered to treat professional fighters, collegiate football players, and more.

When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll find him spending time with family, lifting weights, creating art, making music, or barbecuing at home. With a personal and professional mission to help people feel, move, and perform at their best, Dr. Lugo is committed to redefining pain care through biologic, restorative solutions.
